We had the most incredible and unforgettable stay at Kruger Gate Hotel.

The hotel is ideally positioned close to the Kruger Park gate. We did two full day shared safaris and managed to see the big five which was amazing. Both our guides were fantastic and so knowledgeable. They communicated with others from the hotel to track down lions on our second day which we really appreciated as that was the last of the big five we wanted to see. We were really lucky to see a leopard and a rhino on our very first safari day. We also saw a whole host of other animals and it’s truly an experience that completely exceeded our expectations and we’ll never forget it. We recommend the full day option!

The hotel was also lovely. We used the gym a few times and it was clean and fully equipped. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the pool bar and viewing deck and managed to spot elephants, monkeys and hippos whilst enjoying a drink here. Dinner was also fantastic, with plenty of options and provided opportunity to try traditional South African cuisine which we loved. The staff were super friendly and helpful and we would recommend a stay here to anyone visiting Kruger.

The most incredible hotel experience I’ve ever had. Everything about Kruger Gate Hotel is exceptional. From its stunning location, to incredible (!!!) food (the buffets exceeded any expectation I’ve ever had for a buffet), to the amazing staff. It’s a beautiful hotel that makes you feel so connected to the stunning nature around you. We were so lucky that we saw so many elephants and hippos every day from the pool deck - memories I will cherish forever. The spa is also incredible - I had one of the signature massages which was heavenly and the complementary sauna access had a stunning view of the river outside the hotel, what a way to spot wildlife!

My husband and I booked three morning safaris through the hotel which were always exceptional. The guides were so knowledgeable and really worked hard to find the animals the group really wanted to see that day, we ended up seeing the big 5 and so much more. Special shoutout to the hotel manager Sarah for looking after me when I fell ill (not food or mosquito related!!!) an organised a private driver to the a doctor nearby on record time.

I hope I get to come back to Kruger Gate one day, I can’t recommend it enough!

An outstanding experience from start to finish. I would like to sincerely thank the entire team for the warm hospitality, kindness, and exceptional service. Every request was handled with great attention and any issue was promptly resolved with professionalism and efficiency.

The location is beautiful, the property is extremely clean and well maintained, and the staff truly makes the difference with their friendliness and dedication. It was a pleasure staying here, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and excellent service.

Didn't stay in the hotel, stayed nearby, but got a safari with them and let me tell you, we got the greatest safari guide to ever do it, he managed to get us seeing 4/5 of the big 5, along with monkeys, hippos, massive birds of prey, kudu, giraffes, literally everything but a rhino (luck of the draw I guess).

Not only that but when a leopard managed to get spotted by another group he managed to get us there in no time, and when it walked into the bush he found the best route to the other side and got us directly in front of where it came out, it walked out right in front of the truck and looked at me like I was lunch, he also managed to get all the other trucks to leave a gap for it to get across to where it wanted to go.

Chris, thank you so much, you absolutely made my trip!

Amazing hotel. Highly recommend staying here. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are amazing, with a mixture of South African, European and American food. You won’t be disappointed. The biggest perk is watching animals in Kruger park right from the pool!

We stayed at this hotel in early September. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and cozy with a comfortable bed and a warm blanket. The hotel overlooks the park and various animals—such as antelopes, elephants and different birds visit the pool area during the day. The breakfast and dinner spreads offered a great variety of dishes. For a morning safari we were provided with a breakfast box containing yogurt with muesli, sandwiches (there is choice to order), fruit, snacks, juice; there was more than enough food. The dinners by the campfire were magnificent. We booked both morning and afternoon safaris through the hotel and they were fantastic. Our guide was wonderful—he did his best to ensure we got the best photos and saw as much wildlife as we could; a special thanks to him for that! Monkeys visited the pool area in the mornings. Only positive impressions of the hotel! Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay!

We had a really lovely stay at Kruger Gate Hotel. We came as a large family group with children, and the hotel was a great choice for a family trip. There is a wonderful atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and plenty of comfortable spaces to enjoy together.

The facilities and infrastructure are excellent and very well maintained. The food was honestly one of the highlights of our stay — everything we tried was delicious, and there was plenty of variety for both adults and children.

What really made the experience special, though, was the staff. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. I especially want to mention Leroy from Lapa, who was incredibly kind and attentive. He always made us feel welcome.

We found the hotel very family-friendly and a great place to stay with children while enjoying the Kruger experience. It was comfortable, beautiful, and easy to enjoy as a group.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend Kruger Gate Hotel for a family trip to Kruger. We would happily come back!

Herald Mgiba was our safari guide and he was awesome! Shared great information about birds, animals and plants while we were touring. We let him know what our hopes were as far as things to see and he went above and beyond to make our 2 days with him amazing!

Kruger was the best experience ever! Our safari guide, Famous Amos was very knowledgeable and guided us to the African Big Five:)

Only a year and a month had passed, and there I was again, sitting on the terrace of the Kruger Gate Hotel next to the amazing Infinity Pool—though this time I didn’t go for a swim 😊. Instead, I sat on the deck and worked on my computer; there was no other choice ☹. But that didn’t stop me from enjoying a few wonderful moments once again at this fantastic open-air hotel. Looking up from the monitor every now and then, picking up my binoculars, and admiring the view of elephants, hippos, buffalo, nyallas, and other iconic African animals wasn’t a problem at all, even while working. I just had to, as always, watch out for the crafty vervet monkeys, who don’t hesitate to seize any opportunity to steal some food from an inattentive hotel guest 😊. I’d like to point out once again that this is an open-air hotel, so it’s common to encounter wild animals right on the premises. That, too, adds to the hotel’s African authenticity. And that’s exactly what I like. But to get back to my work sessions on the deck I’ll remind you again that the hotel is located on the banks of the Sabie River—that is, right on the border of Kruger National Park—and is surrounded on all other sides by private game reserves. This means it’s literally surrounded by the African wilderness, with everything that comes with it. So the aforementioned delight of watching the animals takes place right on the banks of this legendary river—or, rather, right in it. I’ve spent many days at the Kruger Gate Hotel, but I don’t recall ever seeing so many elephants crossing the river in both directions in a single day. Nor do I recall so many hippos and buffalo coming right up to the terrace after dark. This time I spent only one day (and one night) at the hotel, but once again, it was worth it. And I didn’t even have to go on a game drive—which I really didn’t this time; I just didn’t have time ☹.
And just as much—if not more—I’m sorry that I didn’t get to meet all the people who work at the hotel and whom I remember from the past (for example, Amos, who works as a guide taking guests on safari trips to the park for the hotel). But I’m glad I at least got to meet the general manager, Miguel. At least for a moment, since he was busy the whole time. I’d like to say hello to him and hope he enjoyed the Slovak Horalky cookies 😊. On the other hand, I once again enjoyed the excellent cuisine, which is always worth it. Speaking for myself, I can say that the culinary experiences at this hotel are unbeatable. With a buffet-style meal, it’s practically impossible to eat in moderation 😊. And when you add the evening performances by traditional African dancers to the mix, the experience goes far beyond just a culinary delight—it’s truly top-notch 😊.
If anyone wants to experience authentic African wilderness, luxurious accommodations, and fantastic cuisine all in one place, I definitely recommend the Kruger Gate Hotel. You won’t be disappointed. I’d also like to add that the friendly and helpful staff will certainly make your stay there even more enjoyable. I don’t know when I’ll return to South Africa (though I didn’t know that during any of my ten visits either), but when I do, I won’t pass up the Kruger Gate Hotel.

Perfect experience from start to finish.

Loved the property and the perks that comes with the property viz the breakfast & dinner buffet which is included in the rate and their pool deck overviewing the Kruger National Park. They have a lavish buffet which will definitely spoil you while you are there and you’ll spot animals from their pool deck area. We spotted Hyena, Hippos and Elephants from the pool deck. Also, the Kruger National Park is literally 2-3 minutes away from the property. Loved everything property as they have almost everything from gym to tennis/ golf court etc. Last but not the least, their staff is really good and ensure your requests are taken care of while at the property and also while you are enquiring and understanding things related to the Safari. Special thanks to Bongcheka from Safari desk and Athenkosi for being such a sport and assisting in all my queries wrt game drives and reservations. Also, Nomadic was really kind to us during our breakfast time and ensured we are well taken care.

Les chalets sont top pour une famille ! Piscine commune aux chalet casiment privative juste en face ! L’hôtel est grands, très bien décorée et de ultimes activités pour les enfants et adolescents Nous devions y rester deux nuits nous avons prolonger de deux nuits de plus !

The cleanliness, very kind staff especially Pearl by the reception. She was so helpful when we had to change rooms. The dinner buffet - delicious food with variety on each day.
The infinity pool is breathtaking, chilling there with binoculars, viewing animals by the bush was outstanding for my family.

Hotel maravilhoso. A acomodação era muito confortável, espaçosa e muito limpa. Acredito que deve ter havido alguma reforma, pois parecia que nada havia sido usado. O café da manhã e o jantar eram muito fartos, estilo self-service, com muitas opções de alimentos da cozinha internacional, inclusive opções vegetarianas. O restaurante onde era servido o jantar é ao ar livre, muito bonito e sempre com uma apresentação cultural cada noite. Há piscinas com bar e vários locais onde você pode observar a selva e animais Realmente ótimo hotel. Recomendo e pretendo voltar.

We loved our stay at Kruger Gate Hotel. The proximity to the Paul Kruger Gate made access to the morning safaris quick and easy. The breakfast and dinner buffets were unbelievable - so much variety each day. Absolute compliments to the chefs and kitchen staff. We also loved the bar and heated pool overlooking the Sabie River where we could enjoy a cocktail while spotting wildlife on the river banks. We appreciated that there was a Bluu car hire desk at the hotel as we were able to organise our own self-drive in Kruger through them. We also went on the whole day safari from the hotel - our guide was fabulous but the prices seemed higher than other providers who would have come to pick you up so perhaps some advice to shop around.

O hotel é muito bom. A localização não tem como estar mais próxima do Kruger, só ficando lá dentro. O staff é muito simpático e prestativo. O quarto que ficamos era grande e bem decorado, limpo e confortavel. A qualidade e variedade das refeições é boa.

Hôtel incroyable! La nourriture est excellente bien que ça soit un buffet, j’ai souvent été déçue mais celui là est très bon avec du choix et de vrai produits de qualité. Le personnel est adorable. L’hôtel est sublime, la chambre très agréable et avec un lit immense.
Depuis la piscine nous avions vu des singes, des éléphants, des hippopotames …
Proximité direct avec le Park kruger.

Außergewöhnliches Hotel und Lage. Exzellente Alternative wenn man nicht 1000 Euro pro Nacht und mehr zahlen will nur um IM Kruger Park zu schlafen. Das Hotel liegt ja wie beschrieben direkt davor. Das Hotel hat ein exzellentes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis, da Frühstück und Abendessen im Preis inkludiert sind. Sollte man dennoch Lust auf Roomservice haben, sind die Preise ebenfalls sehr moderat. Waren zu zweit unterwegs und haben mehrmals am Pool oder am Zimmer bestellt und während einer Woche ca. 100 Euro dafür ausgegeben wobei 40 Prozent davon sicher Trinkgeld war. Die Freundlichkeit des Personals sollte ebenfalls erwähnt werden, alle waren durchwegs hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Alles in allem äußerst empfehlenswert.

Hotel maravilhoso. Quarto confortável, divido em dois ambientes, com varanda com vista para a savana e banheiro espaçoso com banheira e chuveiro. Fica literalmente ao lado do portão de entrada para o Parque Kruger, o que facilita as partidas diárias para os Safáris. Um diferencial é que o hotel possui uma unidade da BLUU de aluguel de carro, o que permite que devolvamos os veículos no próprio hotel (especialmente funcional para quem vem de Joanesburgo de carro). Jantar e Café-da-Manhã deslumbrantes. Vale se hospedar aqui.

Das Hotel ist super, der Pool hat Blick über den nahen Fluss, wo wir Nilpferde und Elefanten gesehen haben. Die Lage direkt am Gate ist sehr gut. Unsere Ganztages-Safari war sehr gut organisiert mit lecker Frühstücks Paket.
Das Essen allgemein war sehr lecker und mit großer Auswahl.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, although the price was a little steep. The design blends beautifully with the surrounding nature - monkeys and antelopes roam around the property, and you can even watch elephants from the pool.
Breakfast and dinner were simply excellent, with a great variety of food and everything tasting delicious. The service was also very good.
