Lapa Restaurant
After sunset, the boom of a big brass gong blending with the voice of a traditional African welcome will call you to a sumptuous fireside feast in our Lapa. This Kruger Restaurant’s enclosed, circular space designed around a central fire pit represents community and the cycle of life, inviting you into the heart of the Kruger Gate Hotel family. The lapa is a quintessential South African cultural place of connection and celebration where people come together to share food, music, dance and storytelling. Laid out for your pleasure is an array of local and international cuisine for you to enjoy a leisurely three-course buffet dinner.
There’s a sizzling grill featuring South African braai specials such as sosaties, boerewors, ribbetjies or tjops and a rooster broodjie station where cheesy sandwiches made from farmhouse bread are toasted over the coals. You can customise your own stir-fry or pasta meals choosing fresh ingredients and tantalising flavours that our chefs prepare in front of you. Five days a week, there are new choices including casserole, potjiekos, curry, roast meat, pescatarian, vegetarian, and kiddie’s dishes, as well as vegetable sides, sauces, and condiments. Step into the refrigerated deli room for fresh, crisp salads, cheese platters, desserts, the freshly baked cake of the day and a selection of home-made ice cream.Â
