The beauty of your stay at the Kruger Gate Hotel is your incredible access into the game-rich reaches of the southern Kruger National Park. With a history dating back to 1898, the Kruger National Park is Africa’s second-oldest game reserve, and at over 7500 sq mi (almost 20 000 km2) is one of the continent’s largest conservation areas.
Affectionately known as ‘The Park’, Kruger is word-famous for its spectacular abundance of wildlife and outstanding safari experiences. It is home to more different types of large mammals (147 species), than any other game reserve in Africa; and with 517 recorded species, Kruger is also a bird-watching paradise. Our location in the Greater Kruger Conservancy, right at the Kruger Gate enables those who are self-driving access to the Park within minutes, at any time in the day.
There are a host of safari options on offer; and our Safari Concierge will assist you in booking morning, all-day, afternoon and night safaris. You have the choice of joining up with others or booking private guided safaris. GUESTS can also book a Breakfast pack the day before which will be ready for collection the next morning.
You will wake before dawn, enjoy complimentary coffee, tea and traditional rusks before setting off, full of anticipation, with your professional guide on an open-air safari vehicle. Within minutes, you enter the Kruger Gate and are immersed in pristine wilderness where large herds and powerful predators roam freely. As the sun rises, pink and gold, over the untamed landscape of thorn trees and waving grass, you never know what you might see. There’s always a chance of Africa’s iconic Big 5 – Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino, and so much more.
