Kruger, a perfect destination for memorable corporate events & meetings

Experience-first events is a major global trend for the events industry in 2024.

Companies and their event organisers are looking for unique, immersive experiences that engage their attendees and deliver ROI. One of the best ways to achieve this is to choose a sensational destination like Kruger Gate Hotel that provides an undeniable WOW-factor setting, a world away from the humdrum of corporate life.

A nature-based destination such as the Kruger Gate Hotel provides the perfect contrast for your next inspiring corporate event. With luxury, lodge-style accommodation set in the lush woodlands on the Sabie riverbank, your attendees are transported far from the typical, monotonous city events venue. Surrounded by pristine bushveld, with easy access into the wilds of the iconic Kruger National Park, you’ve already set the stage for an unforgettable, immersive experience just by your choice of venue.

To arrive at Kruger Gate Hotel for your corporate event is to step completely away from urban life with its frenetic speeds and spiralling pressures and be fully present in a place of deep tranquillity and exquisite beauty. There’s a spontaneous mind shift that happens that opens attendees up to new possibilities and to connecting with others in more meaningful ways.  It fosters engagement, ignites creative thinking and provides innovative contexts for critical thinking and problem-solving.

Today’s corporate meetings and events often include contrived elements of well-being, but at Kruger Gate Hotel, wellness is infused throughout the experience. From taking pleasure in the plush comforts of your modern hotel room and relaxing in the quiet zone of our Pool Bar & Viewing Deck to savouring healthy, delicious meals; from the thrill of going on private safari game drives into Kruger’s Big 5 territory to being pampered at our tree-top African Spa, your attendees will rest, restore and reconnect with themselves and others.

Getting corporate groups to Kruger Gate Hotel

We are situated right at the Paul Kruger Gate of the Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga. This is the closest gate to Skukuza Camp, the “Capital of the Park”. For corporate events groups that wish to fly in, there are regular flights to both Skukuza Airport and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, and we offer airport transfer services. There is also a helipad on the property for executives wanting to fly in. Many event groups choose to self-drive, and the hotel is a comfortable 5-and-a-half-hour drive from Johannesburg. You can find directions and a map on our website here. The self-driving option opens up opportunities for your group to take the scenic, panorama route traversing the Drakensberg Escarpment and explore some of the other attractions in the region including the Mac Mac Falls, Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Pilgrim’s Rest. For more information on the Panorama self-drive route, read our blog here.

Corporate teams on safari

One of the great highlights of your group’s stay with us will be the safari game drives into the game-rich southern regions of the Kruger National Park. We’re so close by that it takes under a minute’s drive from the hotel to reach the Park’s Paul Kruger Gate. Corporate groups tend to prefer booking private Kruger safari drives so you can keep your team together for this awesome, bonding experience. Every day, we operate morning, afternoon and all-day safaris in open-air vehicles with knowledgeable rangers. You can find out more about our exclusive Kruger Gate safaris here.

Corporate dinners and gala occasions

Kruger Gate Hotel has a choice of stunning venues when it comes to bringing your group together for private lunches and dinners:

  • The expansive Nkoveni venue with elevated views over the Sabie River is ideal for exclusive corporate celebrations such as launches, receptions and awards dinners.
  • The unique River Boma is set within the Kruger National Park in the Sabie riverbed and a ranger always accompanies guests as close encounters with wildlife are expected. Rustic and picturesque, with river sand underfoot, this is an authentic open-air African cultural space available for private corporate dining. The River Boma is an extraordinary venue for Kruger-themed occasions, bringing teams and colleagues together to make special memories.
  • A smaller private dining pod for small corporate groups of up to 10 people is available along our Viewing Deck which runs along our stretch of the Sabie River. This venue includes a kitchenette where your dedicated chef prepares and serves dinner.

Local artists such as marimba bands, African dance troupes and choirs are available to provide authentic, immersive experiences at our corporate functions. Our dedicated events staff will be on hand to support your choices of venues, entertainment and menus, co-ordinate each aspect of your programme and ensure that your group enjoys a time to remember.

I could not recommend the Kruger Gate Hotel more! Our experience from start to finish was flawless. We were greeted at Skukuza airport and driven through Kruger National Park to get to the hotel. That meant that even our taxi journey to the hotel featured animal sightings. The staff at the hotel were so efficient and got us checked in so quickly, even though we were a large family/friends group. We stayed for four nights and decided to do 1x full day safari, 1x morning safari and 1x afternoon safari. This allowed us to explore the National Park but also enjoy the beautiful facilities at the hotel. The safaris were excellently organised and the guides were incredible. We saw 4 out of the big 5 (sadly no leopards, although we had two very near misses where we had just missed a leopard sighting) and countless other animals. In our down time we enjoyed the three swimming pools, one of which overlooked the river and where we could see elephants on the opposite banks, and our wonderful rooms. The group was split between Deluxe Rooms and the self catering chalets. The rooms were stunning and the chalets were excellent for larger groups. The food was AMAZING! Every night we were treated to an extensive buffet in the boma with amazing singing. The ambience was incredible. On the two mornings we weren\'t on game drives we enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which was also delicious. While there a large number of our group booked treatments at the spa, which we all raved about. The trip was to celebrate my 30th Birthday and we were a large group visiting from the UK. I would like to thank everyone at the Kruger Gate Hotel for making our stay so special. I really hope that I return again in the future. Thank you again!
