Reports To: Pastry Sous Chef

Although not limited to, the incumbent’s main responsibilities will include

• Prepare a range of baked goods including breads, rolls pastries and sponges.
• Assist in the preparation of laminated doughs (Croissants, Danish Puff Pastry).
• Follow standard recipes and baking procedures with accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized and hygienic workstation at all times.
• Weigh, mix, knead, proof, shape and bake dough with precision and care.
• Assist with daily mise-en-place and production schedules.
• Work collaboratively with Pastry Sous Chef.
• Uphold all food Safety and hygiene standards.
• Take direction well and apply feedback to improve performance.
• Participate in routine cleaning, stock rotation and kitchen duties as needed

The following qualifications and experience are essential

• Diploma in Professional Cookery/Culinary Arts or qualification relevant to the role
• 3 years’ experience within a large establishment (100 rooms)
• Supervisory Management NQF 5/ Computer Literate
• Grade 12 with Mathematical and English proficiency
