Pastry Chef

Reports To: Pastry Sous Chef
Although not limited to, the incumbent’s main responsibilities will include
- Prepare a range of baked goods including breads, rolls pastries and sponges.
- Assist in the preparation of laminated doughs (Croissants, Danish Puff Pastry).
- Follow standard recipes and baking procedures with accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized and hygienic workstation at all times.
- Weigh, mix, knead, proof, shape and bake dough with precision and care.
- Assist with daily mise-en-place and production schedules.
- Work collaboratively with Pastry Sous Chef.
- Uphold all food Safety and hygiene standards.
- Take direction well and apply feedback to improve performance.
- Participate in routine cleaning, stock rotation and kitchen duties as needed
The following qualifications and experience are essential
- Diploma in Professional Cookery/Culinary Arts or qualification relevant to the role
- 3 years’ experience within a large establishment (100 rooms)
- Supervisory Management NQF 5/ Computer Literate
- Grade 12 with Mathematical and English proficiency

- Willingness to grow and develop within the Kitchen.
