Cooling off – the swimming pools of Kruger Gate Hotel

Summer in the Kruger has its own easy rhythm.

Mornings open warm and golden, evenings bring soft, balmy air, and the hours in between belong to that glorious African heat the continent is famous for. And while game drives are best enjoyed at dawn and dusk, the middle of the day is perfect for stretching out beside a shimmering pool at Kruger Gate Hotel.

This is where “cooling off” becomes a safari experience of its own. Whether you’re soaking in our unique view over the Sabie River, splashing with the kids or enjoying a private retreat away from it all, the hotel’s pools offer something special for every kind of traveller.

  • Pool Bar & Viewing Deck – The sleek infinity pool in this quiet zone is the ultimate midday escape for adults. Overlooking the Sabie River, you’re floating on the edge of the wilderness itself. Elephant and Buffalo wander the riverbed, and birdlife flits through the giant trees while you cool off in the water. Relax poolside on loungers or settle into a stylish outdoor lounge space. From the Pool Bar order refreshing drinks including our signature cocktails and mocktails, as well as delicious lunchtime meals. It’s a place of stunning beauty with a tranquil vibe – exactly where you’ll want to be between game drives.
  • The family pools – Families get their own space for cooling off fun with two dedicated pools, including a shallow wading pool for little ones. Parents can settle into loungers while keeping an eye on the action, and there’s a pop-up poolside bar adding to the holiday mood. Our all-day menu from the Pool Bar includes kiddie’s favourites so that you can and enjoy a relaxed family lunch without ever leaving the poolside. It’s sunshine, laughter and convenience all in one space.
  • Nkanyi Suite private pool – For guests booking the Nkanyi Suite Experience, cooling off becomes entirely exclusive. A serene plunge pool is set in the suite’s secluded patio surrounded by bushveld trees. It’s peaceful and intimate, and designed for easy living – swim, nap, braai, repeat. With an outdoor firepit and braai – and your own dedicated butler service, you can come together to enjoy a relaxed alfresco lunch in your own private space.
  • Chalets’ private pool – Set in the bushveld amidst our self-catering units is a new infinity pool for the exclusive use of guests who are staying in these chalets. It’s a refreshing oasis right in their midst, where they can relax together and enjoy bringing down the midday heat.

Whether you’re visiting for a family holiday, a romantic getaway or a luxury escape, the swimming pools at Kruger Gate Hotel make summer days feel effortless. After all, the best way to enjoy the African sun is with your feet in cool blue water and the midday sounds of the bushveld drifting lazily around you.

Guest Reviews

Kruger gate hotel Experience was absolutely lovely. Really worth it. Surrounded by nature and tranquility. The staff are lovely. Shaz from the breakfast dining team was lovely and so hospitable. Not forgetting Rhunzu and team who made the dining Experience absolutely soulful. Thanking Sarah from guest relations for her warmth and hospitality on arrival. I will definitely be back! 🥰

I had a amazing stay at this hotel. Being in the middle of the wildlife and seeing animals made this an unique experience! The hotel is located next to Kruger National Park which made it convenient and accessible for the safari tours.

The staff at this hotel were helpful with arranging safari tours and provided a delicious to go box lunch for early tours. My safari was with Kurt Safari which was amazing!

The restaurant staff were the highlight of my stay. They were absolutely amazing and kind! I sat at the same table every night and had the pleasure of having the best server! I don't remember her name, but she was very kind and attentive as I was traveling solo. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this hotel was phenomenal!

I ate so much during my stay as the hotel had a variety of food options! I had breakfast and dinner included, but they do have a bar near the pool that sells lunch as well.

I will always treasure my time at this hotel. It was one of the most unique hotel experiences of all of my travels so far! I would highly recommend!!

Einfach Alles ohne Ausnahme!!

Nice and relaxed , even if it is a big hotel never had the \"holiday factory\" feeling. Lots of animal sighting from the pool area. Perfect combination of relaxed holiday and Kruger Park visits. Breakfast and diner are amazing with good food and so many choices!
