Kruger Gate Hotel is proud to share that Dee’s African Spa, located on the property, was named a finalist in the Safari Spa Category of the 2025 Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards, hosted in Cape Town recently.
The Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards recognises spas, across categories, that are transforming luxury and holistic healing. It’s a celebration of the industry and those spas that work to redefine wellness in an innovative and professional way.
Located on the Sabie riverfront, Dee’s African Spa offers hundreds of guests a world-class spa experience every year. It’s about being pampered in a setting that encapsulates the every essence of the Kruger National Park’s splendour.
The treatments offered by the spa are inspired by African wellness culture and traditional artefacts. For example, the Xigiya knob kiri massage uses handcrafted knob kieries to apply just the right amount of pressure to take experience from merely relaxing to truly rejuvenating.
Knob kieries were traditionally used to massage out cramps, tension and weariness in the leg muscles of warriors. And while today’s travellers may present with a different weariness, the technique that combines ancient wisdom with physiology is as needed today as it was through all the ages.
Spa owner Dee Molefe is very proud of this recognition. “It’s an honour to be a finalist among some of the country’s foremost spas. It is encouraging to know that our work holds up against the best and it motivates us to keep innovating, to keep delivering exceptional services and reminds us what a privilege it is to work in an industry where we’re committed to making people feel good,” she says.
