Why you should take your team, friends or family on safari

Whether it’s your hardworking team members, or your buddy or family group, we need get out the grind of daily life together from time to time.

When the years roll by without ever getting the chance to relax and enjoy some real downtime, a certain distance can grow between us. This is because the relentless focus on work, home life and school days locks us into our roles for most of the year. We’re always ‘doing’ together instead of being together.

That’s why the long summer holiday is the ideal time to get away with your special group to reset and reconnect on a very human level.

Here are some of the highlights of a group safari holiday to Kruger Gate Hotel:

  • Location is everything – we’re situated on the banks of the picturesque Sabie River, right at the Paul Kruger Gate. This means it’s less than a one-minute drive from the hotel to get into the game-rich southern region of the Park.
  • It’s a world away from work and home life – although so accessible by road or air, you will be easily immersed in the evocative wildness of the South African bush. It’s unbelievably refreshing to the soul to be surrounded by the beauty and serenity of Kruger’s natural landscapes and our hotel’s lush riverine woodland.
  • The thrill of a wild adventure – venturing into the Park on our open-air game drives fills you with anticipation. Your safari through Big 5 country unfolds with wonder and awe. It’s an incredibly bonding experience to share close encounters with wildlife with your family, friends or team members.
  • Chilling out together – after the excitement of your safari, there’s plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind together. Our Pool Bar and Viewing Deck is a gorgeous quiet zone overlooking the Sabie River. You can enjoy gourmet pizzas from our wood-fired oven. Or lounge around the sparkling infinity pool while animals wander down to the river for a drink.
  • Exploring the Panorama Route – you have easy access to stunning attractions such as God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Pilgrim’s Rest. There are plenty adventure activities on offer such as mountain biking, hiking and zip-lining that are perfect for group fun.
  • Dining under the stars – evenings are full of cheerful companionship and delicious food. Your group can enjoy fireside African feasts in our Lapa Restaurant or book a private dining pod on our Viewing Deck for an exclusive experience.

Beautiful hotel situated along the Kruger park

We returned to Kruger Gate Hotel as a family (two adults, two children) for seven nights to celebrate two birthdays. Our second visit.

This is still our family favourite holiday location, even more so after a second visit.

I cannot imagine a much better place for a family holiday, couples getaway, or a solo traveller who wants to experience the highest quality and stress-free safari.

Some hopefully helpful details:

Location - directly on the edge of one of the best safari locations on earth, southern Kruger. You will see many of the \'big five\' from the hotel\'s pool area.

Staff/Atmosphere - everyone here is incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely wants to make your stay as special as possible.

Safari - you MUST book game drives whilst you are here. We had four early morning private safaris, booked through the hotel, and one night safari booked directly with Kruger Park (they collect you from the Hotel).

Rooms - the rooms have recently been renovated and are very clean and comfortable. We had a family room which worked perfectly for four of us.

Food and drink - buffet breakfast and dinner are included in the room rate, both are excellent with lots of variety - South African themed with international alternatives too. Lunch and drinks are a la carte and are also excellent.

Value for money - just right. Everything here is high quality, but you can also enjoy yourself properly without having to worry too much about your bill at check out!

Cleanliness - perfect.

Noise level - you\'re surrounded by wildlife, so it\'s never silent (you wouldn\'t want it to be!), but it is definitely a very relaxing place to stay.

Some special mentions for some staff members:

EDGAR - we have been on safari many times, Edgar is the best guide we have ever experienced. We\'ve now had seven game drives with Edgar and every one has been spectacular. Ask for him when booking your safari.

MISHECK and ZENDA - nothing is too much trouble and they are lovely company if you want to learn more about life in this beautiful part of the world whilst enjoying some delicious poolside lunch or post-safari cocktails.

ALICK and NEO - wonderful dinner hosts in the open-air restaurant.

Overall, an amazing holiday destination.

Dit hotel is fantastisch qua ligging net aan de rand van het Krugerpark. De olifanten, buffels, zwijnen,.. komen tot aan de rand van het zwembad. Qua sfeer en gezelligheid is dit top! Vriendelijke mensen, uitstekende bediening. Een aanrader!
